Genuine Eco travel operators.

There are many travel companies operating under the name of eco travel but they may not necessary promote eco travel. Hence to be an eco traveller, it is our responsibility to find out more about the eco policies of the travel company.

Genuine Eco Company will usually have some form of green certification from an external organisation. It is easy for a travel company to state verbally about their eco policy,we should always request to see these policies in writing.

A good eco travel provider should offer relevant information and advice on how to minimise impact on the eco systems and how a traveller can contribute to the protection of the ecosystems.

An eco travel provider would also provide traveller the opportunity to participate in conservation or preservation project. Such participation will increase eco traveller awareness and concern for the environment and hopefully bring back this knowledge when they go home.

Here are some recommended Eco Travel operators:

Eco travel.com is an online eco travel magazines. It is also have a directory of travel organisations, which includes information on the eco philosophy and practice of the organisation.

Responsibletravel.com is a leading ethical travel directory with over 3000 holidays and accommodations from around the world. Every holiday has been screened to make sure it meets strict socially and environmentally responsible criteria.

earthorganization.com is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the vital partnership for survival we all have with the natural world, and bringing effective, down-to-earth solutions to environmental and conservation situations. The Earth Organization’s many activities include providing outstanding, intimate Eco-Safari Adventures to the award-winning, exclusive private game reserve called Thula Thula (pronounced Toola Toola).

Eco travel responsibility need not apply to overseas holiday only. We should make it a point to follow our commitment to conservation of the environment in our everyday life. Finally, share your eco travel experience with friends and family as a way to foster a greater understanding of our world.
